Daily Office Challenge

WHAT IS THE DAILY OFFICE?

The Daily Office is way to pray and read the Bible everyday with the church from the Book of Common Prayer.

WHAT IS THE DAILY OFFICE CHALLENGE?

The Daily Office Challenge is a challenge to the church to pray either Morning or Evening Prayer each day and read the Daily Office Lectionary Scriptures each day.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE EACH DAY?

Praying Morning Prayer, either alone or with others, and reading the passages typically takes 15-20 minutes.

HOW LONG DOES THE CHALLENGE LAST?

We hope this challenge results in the formation of a lifetime habit! But The Daily Office Challenge lasts 60 days, April 1 to Pentecost Sunday.

WHAT IF I GET BEHIND?

Don’t worry about catching up! Seriously. If you fall behind, just jump in on the current day.

HOW DO I JOIN THE CHALLENGE?

Click the button to join the challenge!

  • Download the Holy Cross Prayerbook , follow Morning or Evening Prayer each day, and read the Scriptures appointed for the day.

  • Optional: join the discussion on our private Faithlife group.

  • Optional: join our Zoom Morning and Evening Prayer meetings each weekday as you’re able.

WHY NOW?

With the pandemic upon us and so many of us at home, it’s an important time for us to pray and engage the Word of God. This is also an opportunity for us to cultivate new habits of common prayer and reading the Bible together as a church. This is a great way to stay connected!

Zoom morning and evening prayer

On weekdays from March 25 through Holy Week we will offer live Morning and Evening Prayer led by different members of our community. You can join by clicking the links below.
