The Catechism Course
grounded in the gospel and the church
The Catechism Course is an exploration of the Christian faith using the Lord’s Prayer, Apostles Creed, and Ten Commandments as our primary guide. We also cover the sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s supper and our understanding of Scripture. This small group is a deep dive into the basics of Christian belief and practice, geared towards both someone exploring Christianity and the seasoned believer.
For those considering membership or confirmation, this small group is required, but is open to anyone. The Catechism Course runs twice a year in a small group format. Childcare is provided.
Membership
committing to the parish
The basic requirement for membership at Church of the Holy Cross is that one has been baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. To become a member or the parish, a baptized Christian will:
PARTICIPATE IN THE CATECHISM COURSE
Meet with the rector
Sign the Membership Covenant
be confirmed in the Anglican Church (if not already)
Small Groups
loving one another and growing together
Small Groups meet at various times and locations so we can encourage one another to live out the faith we proclaim on Sunday mornings and so we can grow in friendship with one another.
Small Groups meet on a semester schedule and are open to all.
Volunteer
Each week it takes a number of volunteers to pull off our service. Liturgy is a participatory event, a collective work of the people. To volunteer, fill out this form and select the roles you're interested in.
