Much of our daily life revolves around work and the money that flows from it. Our schedules, priorities, and patterns of rest are quietly formed by how we labor, how we use what we earn, and what we believe our work ultimately means. Is work a necessary evil? Is wealth creation always morally problematic? And what does God’s command to rest have to do with how we labor?
This twelve-week class explores a biblical and practical vision of work and wealth, affirming work as a creational good, wealth as a gift entrusted to us, and Sabbath as a joyful and necessary limit on our labors. Drawing from Scripture, Christian tradition, and practical wisdom, we will consider how Christian worship centers and reorders our vocation, shaping our ambition, productivity, generosity, and rest under the lordship of Christ.
