Join us for the Great Vigil of Easter on Saturday, April 4 at 7:45 p.m.at the Barn at Fidelis Farm (6577 Jarmans Gap Rd). This ancient service is the first service of Easter and moves from the solemnity of Holy Saturday to the in-breaking light of Easter Day.
The Easter Vigil is a multi-sensory, participatory service. There’s fire representing the light of Christ. We hear and sing the words of Scripture. For this service, we’ll use incense (sparingly!), a biblical symbol of the prayers of God’s people (Exodus 30; Psalm 142:2; Revelation 5:8). We’ll ring bells with joyful fanfare at the announcement of the resurrection. And of course, we’ll end up around the Lord’s Table, feasting on the meal Jesus gave us.
For the feast following the service, the church will be providing a main dish. Please bring something to share – click the link below to sign up!
